5 Inspiring Examples of Developer Portfolios
While creating my first portfolio I spent a lot of time browsing other developers’ portfolios as a source of inspiration. Here are five I found particularly cool:
Lewis’s portfolio uses a fun concept for a landing page, allowing you to draw on his face before exploring the rest of the site. The links also have a rainbow hover effect that adds a bit of excitement to the black & white color palette. Definitely a good example of how a little creativity can go a long way.
Jesper is pretty well known as a frontend guru and you’ll often see some of his effects used on other portfolios. The interactive WebGL hover effect is a classic one. His website also features a great example of a horizontal scroll menu.
This one is pretty much a benchmark for WebGL used in a portfolio. Yoichi’s use of 3D models for both the loading animation and each individual project is just insanely well done, and gives his site a unique feel I haven’t seen replicated.
Yuto’s portfolio is already beautiful at first glance, but the giant click animation and project scroll effect really take it to the next level. It’s a great display of his talents as both an engineer and designer.
Another stunning portfolio that features some of the smoothest transitions I’ve ever seen. Click on one of Thibaut’s projects and prepare to be amazed. The 3D models are some of the nicest looking I’ve seen used in a portfolio as well.
